Initially trained in kinesiology at Université Laval, Ariane Bélanger-Gravel quickly became interested in strategies that can be implemented to promote the adoption of healthy lifestyles. She thus pursued graduate studies in the field of behavioral sciences and completed a postdoctoral fellowship in public health at the Université de Montréal.
As an assistant professor at the Information and Communication Department of Université Laval and an associate researcher at the Quebec Heart and Lung Institute Research Centre, her current research focuses on understanding the dynamics underlying the adoption of healthy behaviors. More particularly, she is interested in the effectiveness of different communication strategies aiming to promote the adoption of such behaviors. To this day, she has contributed to the publication of more than 20 scientific articles and book chapters, both in French and English.
