Marianne Dunlavey, RD, MSc (c)

In 2016, Marianne Dunlavey completed a Bachelor of Nutrition at Laval University. After her undergraduate studies, she worked amongst others as a clinical dietitian in a family medicine group, which allowed her to note the importance of the food environment on health-related behaviours of the population. To improve her knowledge in the field, she decided to accomplish a master's degree in Spatial Planning and Regional Development. Under the direction of Alexandre Lebel and Véronique Provencher, professor at the School of Nutrition at Laval University, she is working on the School Information System. More precisely, she aims to develop a methodology to systematically describe the food environment around high schools. The project will contribute to research on the impact of the school environment on the health-related behaviours of youth and their health status. It will also guide decision-making in public health as well as in spatial planning.
